The first is estate planning, including Islamic estate plans that follow Islamic inheritance rules. The second is residential and commercial real estate. The third is small business legal work: formation, contracts, and the purchase or sale of a business. Most engagements are flat fee. I work with small business owners who want a lawyer who picks up the phone and quotes a flat fee whenever the matter allows.

Wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care proxies, living wills, HIPAA authorizations, and remains agent designations. I draft Islamic estate plans that integrate faraid (the Quranic inheritance shares), the 1/3 wasiyyah cap on bequests outside the obligatory shares, zakat instructions, and Islamic burial directives.
